The Gender Agenda

Nearly half of all people living with HIV are female – but their voices and opinions are often ignored. World AIDS Day 2004 is the culmination of a year-long campaign to highlight the need to listen to women and girls talk about the impact of HIV/AIDS on their lives.

IWR has produced a series of features from six local journalists in Africa, Europe and China that present the personal stories of people living with HIV/AIDS who are fighting to get treatment. The Gender Agenda series will enable you to open up debate and get women and girls involved in your programmes.
