We pay up to £250 for a 5-minute feature, plus up to £100 for expenses, which would need to be agreed with us in advance – and for which you should keep ALL RECEIPTS.
A typical IWR feature should require two and an half days of work: for research, setting up the interviews, collecting the material, writing the script, and recording your links.
The fee for the feature includes any recommissions – if you need to get further material, or have to rerecord an interview because of variable audio quality, or to get a different angle, for example.
In principle, all commissions undertaken for IWR should be original pieces of work, and regarded as exclusive to IWR.
If you have already done a story for another organisation, however, and think that we might be interested, you should inform us at the outset where, when and how this story has already been used or transmitted. If we can find an angle that falls within IWR's editorial policy, it should be possible to script and cut an IWR version, distinct from the original.
Likewise, if you have done a story for us, which you feel would benefit from exposure through other media outlets, recut into a different form, you should contact us to let us know the planned details of the new piece to check if we have any queries.
A fuller explanation of our copyright policy and acceptable use terms and conditions is available on request.
For all queries related to payments you should speak to your producer or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
